Brand Profile
|
Cafe Cifuentes de la Habana coffee is a mildly spicy, sweet and well-balanced coffee with exceptional aroma and delicate flavors. Although flavorful roasted dark, we think it reveals its best balance when roasted to a Full City roast. Slightly sweeter than many Colombia coffees in aroma and flavor, Cafe Cifuentes’s classic boquet of aromatic coffee accents, berries and sweet nuts give this coffee a lively profile that’s evident whether you brew it light or quite strong. This is a very smooth coffee, so brew it strong! You’ll be rewarded with an exceptional coffee treat if you toss a few extra scoops in to a bistro pot that – after almost-boiling water is added – you let sit for a full four minutes before plunging.
Tasting Notes: Aroma – “Swirling bursts of floral aroma from freshly ground coffee, with powerful bursts of cinnamon and almonds after water is added.” Acidity – “Mild, smooth – but still possessing good acidity. ” Flavor – “Mild. Full and rounded. Rich flavors of coffee and nuts mix well with the coffee’s assertive cinnamon aromas.” Body – “Medium-light, highlighted by exceptional smoothness and a full mouthfeel that accentuates the natural sweetness of the coffee.” Aftertaste – “Exceptionally smooth delicate honey sweetness with a lingering almond essence.” Balance – “Classic Colombia Supremo balance… even, smooth and sweet with a slight nutty finish.”
A perfect balance between acidity and richness. Smooth from beginning to end, this classic coffee is a wonderful Colombian Specialty Supremo that you must try.
Cafe Cifuentes, now produced in the southern Valle del Cauca region near El Aquila, El Cairo, Alcaia and Caicedonia, is a spicy and aromatic coffee bursting with flavors of cinnamon and honey with a smooth and lasting finish with a slightly nutty aftertaste.
The Valle del Cauca region is located in Southwestern Colombia and is crossed by two magnificent mountain ranges that are part of the Andean Mountains. The rich quality of the soil and the variety of micro climates found in this region make Valle del Cauca one of the main coffee producing areas of Colombia. Countless coffee estates that yield excellent quality coffee can be found in both mountain ranges. 82% of these estates are no larger than 15 acres.
Andeano Coffee is part of the Association of Cooperatives of Coffee Growers of Valle del Cauca, one of the largest Coffee organizations in Colombia. The Association is formed by 5 coffee cooperatives of Valle del Cauca, representing more than 6,700 coffee growers in the region, and is an affiliate of the National Federation of Coffee Growers of Colombia. Andeano’s Cooperatives spearhead many programs that contribute to the well being of the coffee growers and their families such as education, housing and other community activities.
Colombia – South America’s northernmost coffee-producing country – is broadly diverse in climate, topography and ethnicity and the coffee that originates from specific regions or states is as equally diverse in flavor, acidity , sweetness… and quality as well.
Cafe Cifuentes beans are from a large Southern region and grown at high elevations of 4593-5905 feet above sea level. Bursting with aromas of flowers and cinnamon, we consider this to be a superb Supremo, a coffee that can stand among the highest rank of Colombia’s select class of coffee. If it’s been a while since you’ve tasted a mild, yet spicy and highly aromatic cup of gourmet coffee, consider Cafe Cifuentes de la Habana, Cuban style coffee. |
